Goldgenie Launches 24k Gold Sculpture Collection

The craftsmen behind Goldgenie’s premier gold-plating service know that gold is as beautiful in its molten state as it is in its solid lustre on a finished product. Thus, it was the fluid movement sealed into the bronze-work of a naturalist sculptor in North America that captured their imagination and the vision for the Goldgenie Sculpture collection was born.

Born in France to a family of artists and sculptors, Gautier Bonnefont trained under famed sculptor Henri Moulins and at the renowned Susse and Houdot Foundries. His chiseling apprenticeship was under Master Soudoun and he worked with Pablo Picasso in the French Riviera, where he refined his pottery skills. Using a patented technique known as “Exploded Bronze,” there is a unique nugget-like quality retained in Bonnefont’s finished gold work. Goldgenie have worked closely with him to ensure that the metal retains its organic fluid feel over three majestic shapes; a falcon, a horse and a candelabra. The pieces are then plated with rich 24K gold in layers of between 5 and 10 microns.

Whilst the artist pays more heed to motion than detail in his work, these very special pieces look as though they have been frozen in a natural flow; movement quite literally captured in gold. The sculptures are crafted one by one and may be customized to incorporate semi-precious stones like quartz if desired.

Are these exquisite pieces sheerly the result of unique talent or the Midas touch? Probably a bit of both.
